I have always dreamed of an Advanced Google Adsense analyzer; but as you know; Google is the hugest search engine; but you won't find what you need! So where can I find
Knol will solve the problem? Perhaps; I searched today for the term "Adsense" in knol, to see people activity on Google Wiki and found a cool guy that have some application for Google Adsense.
Those application will help you analyze your Adsense data. Really fantastic!

First of all; is it free? No, but oh yes! It's free to use it; only if you earnings are less than $100 a month. If so, then you'll have $1200 a year, so $50 doesn't sucks? No?
For beginners they have a free license!

Just now that i discovered that my blog (this blog) page rank was updated. I have a Page Rank 3 now. Sound cool; no? (Yes, I have less than 2 months working on that blog; but (Google already knew that the web is soo big)

Do you believe? I already published 9 knols on Google Knol. Wow, the first was about Blogger hacks, the other 8 knols about VB.net.
But what's the good on that?
OK, if i search for "dot net", "vb.net", "Blogger", "hack"... I'm always on the top!
No not on the top only, but also alone! So what if I make 500 knols? Heh, don't forget that knol get you paid; interested to fuel your Adsense with money, here is my plan!


1- Knol is SOOO new
Knol is SOOO new, that's clear! There's no knols on it (execpect some!). Also Knol don't have such as traffic, to make you earn through your knol. So why do you need to knol?
Ok that's simple, because there's a possibility that Knol replace Wikipedia on the future and this will be good to knol users. So this is a long time investment on Knol; you may need up to 6 or 10 months, so that Knol give you the real results.

2- Why Wikipedia have traffic
Wikipedia have a great waves of traffic. That's clear, it'll be enough to check it's rank in Alexa; and also to hear this little story about Wikipedia traffic.
I have a barcode application (that's free to download and use). I know that Wikipedia accept External links, so I added my Barcode links to Wikipedia (not only English but different language).
Days after, I opened my Analytics account and I found a great increase of 300 visitors; simply they come fromWikipedia!
So if a page drive to me 200 visitor from a small link in the bottom, how much the page have traffic then? 2500; 3000; 4000 ?? even more :)

3- Knol is empty so let's write
Knol may fail and don't get Wikipedia place. Ok; but trying isn't that bad: especially when the result may be devastating!!! Here's how!
You can now choose topics you are involved on; then search for many references and get the information and resources from. In the knol, you'll mix and better those information.
If you plan to make 5 knols every day; then after a month you'll get 120 knols at least. Now if knol succeed in the web; you may get 300 impression on each knol. It's not then, only Adsense earnings but also traffic and popularity and being featured as an active and super member.

What do you wait? Knol it now!

Knol is now life, every one can see it and should try and must use it! Just because it's owned by Google? Yes, as you are first, you'll have the chance to get a high rank and featured. So if you have a cool article, submit it to knol.
But what's Knol first? I didn't explained, oh yes here's a review that explain what's knol, and what makes it hit on Wikipedia.


What's Knol
It's another Wikipedia on the web. I don't know why, but big companies like repeating content and duplicates very much in the web. We'll have now Wikipedia, Squidoo, knol and other variety of small websites. So knol is wikipedia, but be carefull it's not Knol.com!

Why choose Knol?
Modern and advanced interface, similar to Gmail and other Google apps. It's easier than Wikipedian, that looks like a hacker application =)
Also it'll get a high rank and first contributor will have more chances to get featured. But always keep the good work!

How to work with Knol?
You can read the help, why do i have to repeat it. You must also read "how to write a knol" and read "what to write and not to write"

Why it hits on Wikipedia?
Because it has the same aim as Wikipedia. Google wants to make a new Wikipedia, may be Google aim to own the web, so he must start by hitting on the biggest portals and so he is doing : accusation of Youtube, blogger, feed burner, Orkut... if he can't so he makes new ones!

I had gone through an amazing experience, since I posted the article "Microsoft is more generous than Google". The title is interesting, but the content isn't. However "Reflection in lots of things" don't have an attractive title, but the content is quite interesting! But the statics below shows that people don't take a look fairly at all articles, but choose only attractive ones!
Those statics are proof, those reflects the page views of the last 3 days.


The following statics shows clearly that the "Microsoft and Google" article dominated the first position and the number of page views is very very high!
So the title got them, in the social news, in the forums, in the feeds all people where interested on this title which has no real relation with the article content. But the other article title wasn't that interesting.

What attract me more than them, is that they didn't like "Adsense earnings for july" which i though it could drive many of them, but this topic got only 373 page view, the "Reflection" got only 205 page view; the difference is quite clear for "MSFT and google" that got a total of 1,224 page views. (BTWN the most viewed article on my blog ! :D). The views doubled 5 times than normal, but what if I find another interesting topic? Let's think together :)

So my content doesn't matter?
Yes it doesn't matter what is in your article, but all in the title and the summary, this is what attract and get more eyeball on what you publish.
So why put quality content, while I can put any thing :)
No, that's wrong, people will hate your blog and notice it as a spam. They may also report it to the social website, google or the forum admins!
So what to do?
Keep writing good articles and putting the right title. You'll get more readers and more fans.

Here's the proof from Google Analytics.
I can analyse the bounce rate and the percentage of exit of each page on my blog. Here's the "Reflection in lot of things" detailed analysis.
The bounce rate is high but not so much! The exit rate is very high also; but let's get an eye on the "Microsoft and Google" article.
The analysis shows the difference!

I wonder how people succeed, others never. I wonder why while I'm very poor the other is so rich!
I'm a VB.net developer that loves blogging and writing. But I dream big; on big projects.


I have thought on making a blog and becoming popular, I just think, but doing is 1000 step away! I just wonder how the other are doing it :p
Coding horror is one of my favorite blogs. It's terribly simple, he even don't put Adsense or other publisher ads (however he uses 3 lines text ads; that he maintains in his own).

But the website still so light and loads in less than 1 second. There's no template. Only 1 picture that attract me a lot and attract him also.
Jeff, didn't blog for popularity, he hadn't worked on social website to make traffic. He's very simple! But after 4 year, Coding Horror have more than 100,000 reader!

Why did he succeed, just by being simple? Or is he hidding an easter egg?
I think I found this easter egg! Yes it's this stupid picture.

Have you ever read Seth Godin blog? Or read one of his books?
Seth Godin don't know a response for this question and don't want to know!
"Is popularity a result of quality of making something or just by the number of connections a writer has?"

I think it can be by the both ways! From connections and quality. But is quality enough to make popularity? I return to Coding Horror! He's simple, he has no connection and seems don't want to, but he's too famous and popular.

I just got interested on blogging and downloaded a book about SEO, I read it all and try it on my spring of life blog. This gave good results as I had no PR and backlinks on this blog.

7 days after reading the e-book:
Omar Abid just stumble websites he loves... Enter the Coding Horror blog and.. what a horror! Coding Horror articles are SEO rules! The bold, the backlinks, the alt, the quote... all rules with no exception are extremely respected.

I stumble Microsoft website from time to time, however I stumble Google website everyday a few hundred of times. So it's normal I didn't noticed that! Microsoft is more generous than Google, it gives me the top 3 searched keywords in different categories. So I know which things attract traffic more :) This will help you choose your keywords to be listed on the top of the google search engine.

Here's where you get them!



First jump to the Microsoft Website.
Then go to the second frame of the page 'the tapped boxes' and choose one tab.
Search for 'top searches'
Visual C is searched most, with 'C' keyword, come visual basic and then 'Create file'
If you choose another tab you can find other top searches. There's 12 keywords in total.
Microsoft is more generous than Google? Bah, this was just an attractive title!

I have more than 1 month (you can say 1 and half) that I started this blog. I'm today searching the results of those 44 days of work in the sector of "Blogging". To start, I choose to see my website popularity, then I wanted to see the earnings and if my blog really generated money.

I use only Google Adsense to advertise on my blog, because I don't have a Page Rank yet, I could not make money by selling links.

However I decided to not to do, I use only publishers like Adsense, I'll also be interested on other publishers in the next few days. But let's first check the Google Adsense earnings report.

I show here only the earnings, because the rest is prohibited by the Google Adsense TOS.
If you don't see clearly the picture, then there's two line, one for my "Online Generate" which is my different earnings from websites or forum that shares earnings with users. The other line is Spring Of life, the current blog, that you are reading :)
My Online Generate was $26.51 Vs. $13.25 (in June) and Spring Of Life is $25.46 Vs. $8.66 in June.

The money I made is so little for me, as I have made a good optimization of keywords, I think so!! But what to do??? Here's I was focusing on solutions.

1- Change my template
Changing my template may be good by finding Adsense ready templates, that are optimized and made especially for text links ads. In the current template I'm using two Adsense banner in the top and the bottom of each post. Integrating the Ads this way, won't mean that I'll get more clicks. Adsense optimized templates may be a good solution

2- Increase my traffic
I'm getting a slow traffic, that's sure, increasing it will increase my earnings that's sure also. My traffic depends especially on Google for this blog. What if I search to improve it?
In june I made the following analytics (not exactly but probably)
Traffic From / Pourcentage
june : Social Websites / 70%
July : Google / 87% !!! (so dependant)
Traffic from social websites dropped, I don't submit to digg don't shout, don't reddit...
So here's the solutions so far:
+ Submit to Digg, Stumble Upon, Reddit, Mixx...
+ Working more on EntreCard, Mybloglog, Blog Catalog...
+ Submitting my blog, every day to 3 blog directories.

3- using affiliates!
I told you about affiliates in the last post. It's a great way to make more with less traffic. The important is to know what your traffic loves! And to put the right affiliate.

Many of you asks me about driving quality traffic to a website. Is this easy, hard or how it can be done. The most of Bloggers (if you dare to name them bloggers!) don't have even 100 impression daily in their Adsense account! So how do you want to make money online???
But why searching for traffic, while traffic can search for you! and why earn with adsense a few bucks, while you can earn thousands with affiliate.


1- How much will adsense make your earn
Let for example, assume that you decided to make money online with advertising (but there's many other means of making money online). If you go through the web, you'll find that the most popular thing, is a blog. But how much will you need to wait to get heavy traffic??
Let assume you done it and made 1,000 visitor daily and 4,000 impression... but how much will you make money with Adsense?
Your earnings won't exceed $25 daily and won't be less than $7. But is $25 a good sum?? Will this make you "rich", oh no you have to think again!! Affiliate :)

2- Example of Affiliate
Now you are going to work with affiliates, no Adsense needed any more. Let assume that you have a website where you sponsor your free and Open Source CMS. It's not an example it's a project that I'm making just for fun, but won't include Adsense in it. Just affiliate links and I'll show you how this will work.

First I think you all know what's a CMS, it's a content management system, it's more than a blog (it contains a blog!!) and also have more functionality that make it a real advanced website.

So here's what I'll do, in order to make my CMS popular, I'll include a free hosting on my server, where you can host a free Awkward CMS hosting. Like that, people will join and use my CMS. Let suppose I'll have 100 visitor daily that will register a new hosting. If I'm using Google Adsense, how much will I earn with it. Exactly 0, because people are interested on sign up and not on the Google Ads, so I'll lose!

No here's the idea, why not just after the sign up, I propose another service to my users. For example why not use a short domain for your CMS? You can try this free domain name service that will give you free domain name. Each registration will make me earn 0.1$ only, but let assume that I had 80 registation a day, I'll make 8$ and what if I use 3 other affiliate program. I would make more than $30 a day!
