This is the second part of my "How to make money with Squidoo" lens. I describe here, how to quickly start and build your first lens with Squidoo. Especially for impatient people!
I know that most of people are impatient. If you are so, so here's a very fast start with Squidoo. First, if you hadn't done it yet, then you should sign up to Squidoo before you can get started.Signing up is free, instantly and easy.
Getting to know most important items of Squidoo
First of all, you must edit your Squidoo profile to make it looks professional, attractive to impress your readers.
- Your name: Type your real name or a related name to the topic that you are writing about. Don't chose long, encrypted names; try an easy to remember name. Here's a good guide to choose your business name.
- Your avatar: Your avatar is the most important thing in your profile. Because people read your picture before anything else! That's even common for every person. But what if a picture isn't that attractive? Your avatar gives your reader an impression about you. Look on mine for example :)
- Your bio: You are not obliged to type your real life story, but few words, that scratch on readers mind. "I make money online by telling people that I make money online, so how the hell do I make money online???"
- Squidoo is a Giant!
There's somethings you should know before starting your own lens on Squidoo. And to make a successful lens, you must read at least 50 other successful lens, to get inspired and see how it works.
- Top 100 lens: Squidoo rank lenses depending on their traffic and popularity. Squidoo shows the top 100 lens on each topic. You can read some of those lenses to get some inspiration! Check Squidoo top 100.
- Giant Squidu: Those are lensmasters who have more than 50 lens. Moderator will choose them, depending on the quality of their lenses. Check this lens to learn more.
- Lens Of the Day: Squidoo moderator (Megan Casey) chose a lens and feature it as a lens of the day. Working on a high quality lens, may feature you! Send your lens, it may be featured.
- Developers: So inclined? And know also programming? Don't miss your chance, go to Squidoo developer zone, they always have additional value on the community...
That's all what you need to know for the moment, unless you are going to develop widgets (or modules) for the lensmasters!
Now, (I hope you read at least 5 lenses) we can start writing our first lens together.
