Social Bookmarking Widget for Blogger

Today I come up with a new idea: Social Bookmarking Widget For Blogger blogs.
Yet, this widget don't works like Addthis or Sharethis widgets, that allow you to share every blog post alone, but it's a side bar widget dedicated to share the whole blog!

  1. How will it looks like?
Just look on the left, on my side bar, you'll find 12 tiny icons. It's the Social Bookmarking widget. You can make one like it, to use it on your blog, submit your blog to those social sites yourself, and your widget will help you get more thumbs up!

  2. How to add?
Completely easy and like the Flickr Photo Stream Widget. Just complete the following form, press the customize button and then add to your blog.

  3. Blog using this widget
If you are using this widget in your blog, let me know, you are about to get listed here. (If something went wrong while installing it, let me know also!)

As the only whitehat social bookmarking expert, I want to let you know that submitting your own site to social sites like Digg is the worst thing you can do.

Submit your own site to StubleUpon and your site will get banned and your profile deleted.

Just because some get away with it does not mean it is OK. Submitting your own site to social bookmarking sites is self promotional spam, plain and simple. Google is watching.

Very soon we will see Google de-listing sites that are using these kind of blackhat techniques.

And do not use any automated submission software, I do not care who recommends it, it leaves a footprint Google can see as well.

Hi Chris,
What you said is true and worth a post.
However submitting your blog isn't dangerous, the dangerous is to submit all posts yourself, this is why I rarely submit articles from my blog myself to Digg or Reddit.
No, Google won't complain, Sites like Digg uses the 'Nofollow' tag.

Actually Digg does not use NoFollow since the beginning. The links not only pass on link juice but drive you up Google Rankings.

Take a look at the code if you don't believe me.

There are 16 sites that I recommend currently that do not use nofollow and pass on link juice very well.

Propeller has changed it's code and now uses a server side redirect instead of a followed A tag. I no longer recommend them in this way.

But as I said in my previous post, you do not want to spam sites like Digg looking to get better Google rankings.

Done correctly 50 to 100+ Diggs will augment your organic SEO and Google love social bookmarking but only if you do it right.

@Tim, I hope the "good job" comment was for me... LOL

Social bookmarking services are a useful way to aggregate your content across the web and bring more awareness and many bloggers have already added it in their blog's.
